Lee "Pat" C. ADAMS, Jr. Was born in Natchitoches , Lousiana on August 13, 1920. He passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2004 in his home. He was the only child of Mary Ellen Adams, a teacher for more than sixty years in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana , and Lee C. Adams, a post office worker and Methodist Preacher.

Lee graduated from Southern University with a degree in chemistry in 1946. He enlisted in the US Army in September of 1941, serving in Europe, mostly in England and Germany until a month after D-day. Lee moved to Seattle in the early 50's with the intention of pursuing a medical degree at the U of W. He briefly took a job instead with the post office, then with the Pacific Maritime Association where he worked for 47 years until his retirement on March 1, 1997 as a foreman of ILWU 98.

He met his wife Gloria, in 1966 in Seattle . Two years after, in 1968, he made his first trip to the Philippines . From that day forward he kept his tradition of making trips to the Philippines and to Natchitoches once a year until his death. His strong sense of humor, work ethic, love, and commitment to family have cemented his marital relationship and family connections in spite of cultural differences and varied professional lifestyles.

He will be missed by a host of family members and friends here in Seattle , in Natchitoches , and in the Philippines . He is survived and loved by his children, Lauren, Sonny, Myrna, Louie, Jun, Emman, and LC. His grandchildren Paolo, Rico, Lara Mae, Michael, Marc, Bugoy, and Ningning will surely miss him. 

His other relationships extended with others families in Seattle headed by DeeDee, Tony Mc., Leovy, Usaffe, Mang Baby, Gilbert, Max (Filipino), Max (Americano), Winnie, union buddies, and in Natchitoches by Terry, Elouise, and Kevin, childhood relationships with the families of Clarence, Listach and the late Melvin Johnson and others, Southern U. alumni and Kappa Alpha Psi. His wife Gloria, will find it extremely difficult to live without his supportive presence.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 28, 2004 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Funeral services started at 7 p.m. at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home, 1732 Broadway, Seattle. Private family graveside services were held Thursday, April 29th at Lakeview Cemetery. Lunch was held on the same day at China Harbor.

The 40th day of his death on June 3rd traditionally will be celebrated by his immediate members of his family. Remembrances could still be made to the projects of Bartolome R. Ysmael Foundation in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. The family wishes to thank again all friends, family and relatives who had joined them during this time.
