1932 - 2011
Our dear mother, June D. Miller was born on April 11, 1932 in Seattle, WA and passed away at her home in Smokey Point, WA on October 19, 2011.
She is survived by her three daughters, Roxanne Eberhart of Torrance, CA, Terry (Pete) Steckler of Stanwood, WA and Susan Lloyd of Stanwood, WA; grandchildren, Dennis (Megan) McClellan, Tracy Lloyd, Kim Folden, Christy Moody and Kevin (Melissa) Moody; great-grandchildren, include Cody and Justin Thornton, Bailey Williams, Kai and Fallon McClellan and Addison Moody; and uncle, Don Campbell.
Besides her family she leaves behind many, many friends who will miss her huge smiles and sense of humor.Especially close to her were Manuel Rivera and his family. They were family as far as she was concerned. She also leaves her two beloved cats.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Nelson; brother, George Nelson, Jr.; and her second husband, Don Miller. Mom spent many years working as a longshoreman and warehouse worker. She and her friend Jane made all the evening news as they were the first women doing that job. She was a proud member of the I.L.W.U. for many years. She retired from the Port of Seattle.
Mom had many joys in life but her favorites by far included fishing, travel (her favorite destination was Mazatlan , Mexico ), and going to the casino.
