Mark R. Taylor
1955 - 2022
Mark Roland Taylor
Mark Roland Taylor passed away suddenly on Friday, March 18, 2022. Born May 2, 1955, a date he repeated enough that his kids had it memorized, Mark grew up in Queen Anne with his mother, father, brother and sister. Mark attended St Margaret's, Seattle Preparatory School and Queen Anne High School.
A committed union member, Mark joined the Teamsters in 1973, delivering fuel with his father’s company, Consolidated Fuel and Heating. After years of hard work, Mark made the move to the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) full time in 2004. A brotherhood he cherished. One of his proudest accomplishments was making it to the “A Side.” Mark was known as a hard worker in every endeavor he pursued.
Anyone who met Mark remembered him - and he remembered them. He was a man with a big presence and an even bigger heart. He was known by his friends and family as a passionate, boisterous man, loving father, committed husband and dedicated longshoreman. His memory lives on in every life that he touched, his three children, Eva, Heidi and Erica, and their mother Kathleen; his mother Bernadette; his siblings Paul and Martha; and five young grandchildren, Thomas, Amelia, Eliza, Benjamin and Charles. Mark was preceded in death by his father Roland.
Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following. Mark will then be laid to rest alongside his father at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. If you would like to sign the guestbook, please go to www.harveyfuneral.com.
