Daniel Sorentino
August 11, 1936 - September 15,
2021.
Daniel Henry Sorentino, Sr. achieved his ultimate goal on Sept. 15, 2021, 36 days after his 85th birthday and moved into the house Jesus has been preparing for him; and the only one he will never have to remodel. He is survived by Melodese, his wife for 66 years; four children, Dan Jr., Dennis, Tony, Darla and their spouses Margaret, Lynn, Lori and Wayne.; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister, Evonne Bess and many nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of International Longshoremen Union Locals 10, 34, and 19. A member of First Covenant Church for 40 years and a member of Sons of Italy. He was an extraordinary craftsman, and loved creating things. He built a 32 ft. full keel sailboat, restored a 40 ft. power boat, carved and painted a full size carousel horse, and put it on a rocking platform, built a pizza oven in his backyard, and too many other things to mention.
He loved sailing, skiing, golfing, traveling, baking, playing the saxophone and listening to jazz. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family. He has "run the course, finished the race, and kept the faith" He has heard the words he has waited so long to hear, "well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your LORD.:
