John Waddell
1933 - 2012
John passed away peacefully on June 20, 2012, with his family by his side. John was born May 5, 1933 at home in Mukilteo , Washington . In 1955 he joined the Army and served his country in Korea and Japan.
While on leave in 1955 he married his wife of 57 years, Carol Hopkins. Upon returning from service John, Carol, son, John Jr. (Rece) and daughte, Bonnee settled in Mukilteo.
John was a Everett Longshoreman (local 32) and Washington State Benefit Director until his retirement in 1997. He was always a proud union man. Nothing was more special to John than his yearly hunting trips to Loomis, Washington.
Getting to "his" special spot before day break, taking a nap, getting up and getting his buck, it didn't get any better than that. He also loved his many trips to Reno with Carol.
In their later years they became regulars at the Angel Of The Winds Casino and we know they would love to give a shout out to the staff in the Keno Parlor. John was preceded in death by his wife, Carol on May 26, 2012; and by his daughter, Bonnee, in 2000.
He is survived by his son, Rece (Deborah); his grandsons, Nickolas, Anthony, and Gabriel Waddell, and Jordan Roth; sister, Sharon Freeman (John); brother-in-law, Edward Hopkins, and Diane Hopkins, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the special people at Clare Bridge for all the love and care they gave John, and also Hospice. As per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements handled by Purdy & Walters with Cassidy.
